A luxury cruise will probably cost you 3-5 times more than a non-luxury cruise but, as with everything else in life,  you get what you pay for. There is a good chance you will be on a smaller ship, and you will definitely have a much higher ratio of staff members to passengers, which means far better service and personal attention. In some cases each passenger has his own personal butler. The quality of food will be outstanding and all cocktails and drinks will be included.

The quality of entertainment will be far better on board a luxury cruise ship, and the ports will likely be more exclusive. Your quarter will be magnificent, in many cases a suite, and certainly an outside room with a view or a balcony.
